Now the Northwest has a true bakery to call its own. After waiting for nearly 11 months, Lulu's Bread & Breakfast is open. This of this spot as more of a pastry shop, although breakfast is definitely on the agenda.

Some of the treats behind the glass include chocolate bread, cannoli cupcakes, guava croissants and chocolate pretzel cookie. Aside from artisan baked goods, look for sandwiches and fresh beignets. The bakery only uses real butter, real maple syrup, fresh herbs and great olive oil for its hearth baked breads, scratch-made sourdough waffles and more.

Co-owner John Arena named the sidekick to Metro Pizza for his mother, who inspired the menu and collected recipes from Vermont to Brooklyn to Vegas for the menu.
