The lion no longer sleeps tonight. Michael Morton's takeover of Michael Mina's former Nobhill Tavern space at MGM Grand has begun a publicly revealed $3,019,024 overhaul. The construction is operating under the codename Project Lion, also the name of an LLC created by Michael and Jenna Morton for this project. The 6,607-square-foot space has been long rumored to focus on a wine bar concept.

With room for 275, the interior will include two lounges in addition to the main dining room. Fake trees will accent the outdoorsy feel with plenty of wood decor on the ceiling and walls and faux wood beams will look down on the private dining room. Countering the nature theme, a "video ceiling display" will be created in one dining area.

A December opening has been suggested for Morton's remodel. Michael Mina's next venture the gastropub Pub 1842 will debut at the MGM Grand on June 18 inside his former Seablue restaurant.
