Earlier today, Emeril Lagasse announced that he was going to do some major renovations to Lagasse's Stadium, his upscale sports bar replete with sports book betting at the Palazzo, to the tune of about $2 million.
"We're going to spend $2 million on the restaurant to renovate it and freshen it up," he told Eater Vegas. "It's hotter than hot. What's flattering is that all of these people around the country now have heard about Lagasse's Stadium and they're trying to copy it. Now they're trying to do an upscale sports bar.
So for the next eight months leading up to the Super Bowl, expect to find the sports bar that everyone is trying to replicate under construction, although it will remain open. Look for new furniture, fixtures, carpet, wall coverings, televisions and upgraded stadium seating.
"The club will remain open during these upgrade, as we are conducting the work in phases and during off hours," says Sebastien Silvestri, the vice president of food and beverage for the Venetian and Palazzo.
Already the super sports bar sports more than 100 HD TVs including a 9 foot by 16 foot main TV, luxury boxes, stadium-style seating, billiard tables and an outdoor patio paired with Lagasse's fare.
