Hide your children. The insane Cronut craze has officially hit Vegas. On Sunday, Bread & Butter rolled out its version of the Cronut to rousing success.
Back at the beginning of May, the new craze hit the bakery world. The cross between a croissant and doughnut comes rolled in flavored sugar and filled with Tahitian vanilla cream, then rolled in rose glaze and rose sugar. Since Dominque Ansel debuted these labor-intensive beauties in New York City, the nation has been seized by copycats.
No word from Bread & Butter whether these will become a permanent fixture on the menu, although owner Chris Herrin did quietly turn over ownership of his bakery to new unnamed owners back in January. While Herrin is still involved, he says he's working on some new projects. His short-lived Meat & Three closed in February.
