New Summer Menu at Poppy Den; Sailor Jerry Day

TIVOLI VILLAGE — Poppy Den has new summer menu items available through September that include herb-flavored meats, fresh seafood and salads. New appetizers include the Asian lobster roll, crab cake with Russian wasabi dressing, Caesar salad, Lily's favorite with fresh white fish, Caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, beef lettuce cup with fresh herbs and the signature pupu platter now features sweet pea soup, Caprese salad, watermelon salad, meatballs and deviled tuna. New summer entrees include mahi mahi, grilled tuna steak with red pepper and basil, roasted orange chicken with watercress and ginger, grilled New York strip with corn pudding and asparagus salad and pork chop with spiced apple sauce. New summer desserts and beverages including chocolate and vanilla tiramisu, yuzu panna cotta and even beer floats made with ice cream and sorbet. Sake sangria makes its debuts on the new menu. DOWNTOWN — Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum will celebrates Sailor Jerry Day on Wednesday at Vanguard Lounge. Starting at 9 p.m., the first 102 (what would be Sailor Jerry's age today) guests to visit Vanguard Lounge will receive a complimentary Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum cocktail. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum cocktails will be on special all night for $5 including brand new Vanguard Lounge specialty cocktails, Sailor's Revenge, Anchors Away and Mutiny. Shots of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum will also be on special for $3 and music for the evening will come courtesy of deejays Oscar Wilde and VegasBanger. [EaterWire]
