The future, two-story Hershey's Chocolate World "retail experience" at New York-New York gets a candy-coated rendering. The design meld is comprised of a giant Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar, an 18-foot Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and entrances in the shape of Hershey's Kisses Chocolates.
The interactive element of the experience will allow visitors to "taste new treats, personalize sweet gifts and create keepsake photos." Candy wrappers and Hershey's Kisses "plumes" can also be personalized, a service available at their three other national flagship stores.
The new 70-foot facade is part of a $100 million makeover along Las Vegas Boulevard, creating a unified promenade stretching from the Monte Carlo to New York-New York.
Hershey's Chocolate World will replace an area currently occupied by the Soho Village retail mini-mall. Six retail tenants will eventually occupy the exterior Strip-facing plaza next to the imitation Brooklyn Bridge and create a new frontage alongside the newly overhauled Nine Fine Irishmen and a upgraded restaurant in the northeast corner.
Across Las Vegas Boulevard and in line of sight from this new attraction is the equally sweet and interactive themed M&M'S World, which opened at the Showcase Mall in 1997.
The Hershey Company operates variations on their "Experience" in Hershey, Pa., Times Square, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Shanghai, Dubai and Singapore. Completion of the entire promenade remodel is expected by early 2014.
