Flavortown is headed to Vegas. Those rumors that TV personality Guy Fieri is opening a restaurant in Sin City are true. Apparently he's opening something at The Quad, formerly known as Imperial Palace, next to the Linq, which opens later this year.
Donkey sauce? Vegas fries? Awesome Pretzel Chicken Tenders? Maybe.
Fieri tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the restaurant is in the early stages of development and still sans a name, yet he still has a lot of details about the place. "At the Quad, and the Linq right next door, and the world's largest Ferris wheel, and all of that tied together," he tells the RJ. "And I get to be the restaurant in the front of it? I'm stoked. And the restaurant's beautiful, with high ceilings and huge glass windows overlooking the Strip, plus a lot of wood and raw metal."
The host of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives calls it "an eclectic mix of food in a real fun environment."
The UNLV grad who has an honorary doctorate from his alma mater will showcase his graduation gown at the restaurant.
Other tidbits include a late-night menu, a blood Mary program for brunch and a late fall opening.
