In a surprise switcheroo, the shuttered Queen Victoria Pub at the Riviera has been re-opened by the resort as the Queen Victoria Pub, with an abbreviated emphasis on British pub food, but a greater focus on "craft" beer. The new menu has replaced many former iconic British choices such as shepherd's pie and steak and kidney pie and chips with generic Mid-Atlantic standbys like BLT sliders and foot long hot dogs.
The formerly 24 hours a day pub, maintained its European roots with traditional breakfasts and U.K. sports on the "telly." The new hours are 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week.
The original space shuttered on April 30 with the operators promising to relocate to a new location. They are still currently looking for an appropriate space.
