Look for the 24-Hour Sammy's Coming in September

Hey, Henderson. Gear up for the new Sammy's Restaurant, Bar & Grill opening in September with an 3,000-square-foot living room for dining and drinking 24 hours a day.

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant from Sami Ladeki, yes, the name behind Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, will have a centerpiece living room with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, oversized furniture and separated by an oversized bar.

The restaurant plans to serve up brunch as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner with two private rooms. A gaming tavern with a full bar fits 25 at bar seats and high-tops.

On the menu, look for oak-roasted salmon filet on an Asian salad with edamame, cucumber and ponzu sauce; braised lamb shank with Zatar, red wine sauce and spiced lentils; and seafood cioppino with shrimp, clams, scallops and fish filet with a seasoned tomato broth and grilled crouton. Naturally, Sammy's will have pizzas that offer up gluten-free and vegan options. Much like the Sammy's pizza spots, the restaurant will have tapas such as Japanese-style chicken meatballs served with Japanese tare sauce and pickled cucumbers; lebni, a Mediterranean soft cheese served with tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and grilled herb flatbread; mini duck tacos topped with feta, tomato, napa cabbage and tomato-cilantro sauce; and hot rock of New York steak with chili ponzu and miso sauce.

Expect to find a daily happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. with a specialty happy hour menu and $2 off drinks as well as a late-night happy hour from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Other specials already in place include an industry night on Mondays with two-for-one drinks, half-priced bottles of wine after 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and a ladies' night on Thursdays with two-for-one drinks.
