Habib's Persian Cuisine, the Mediterranean restaurant at 2575 S. Decatur Blvd., came within one point of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a re-inspection on July 10. The restaurant earned 40 demerits.

Among the violations, improper hand washing, spoiled food and commercially manufactured food lacking the required labels.

The restaurant earned a B grade from SNHD on June 20, and previous inspections in 2010 and 2012 revealed an A grade.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
