Not content with building a 3,000-seat, $19 million, 65,940-square-foot event center called The Chelsea, Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is also dramatically adding to its lounge and club scene. The Chelsea Social Club is being created with an estimated value of $12,849,894 and an occupancy potential of 1,143 patrons.
The 23,354-square-foot concept compares with the 62,000-square-feet of Marquee, but far outpaces the other mix and mingle resort spaces of Bond, Book & Stage or Chandelier Bar.
With more than one bar area serving food and drinks, early plans call for the Social Club to be divided up by curtains and feature plenty of glass. The parent Chelsea theater and event project with a design inspired by an "Eastern European glass factory" is penciled for a late 2013 debut.
