After a short nine months in operation, Bagatelle at the Tropicana will officially shutter after this weekend. John Katsilometes tweeted the news last night, reporting that the former supper club, dayclub and nightclub will only host private events under the name Havana Room & Beach Club.
Kats also tweets, "There was concern about heavy competition from Hakkasan at the MGM Grand."
Bagatelle faced an uphill battle from the start, announcing no less than nine opening dates that ranged from Memorial Day weekend to its debut on Halloween last year. Its brunch opened in December, and the dayclub portion had to wait for the sunnier spring months to debut. The space went through a series of name changes as well. The restaurant closed in February.
Parent company The One Group also operates STK at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Heraea at the Palms. Its Asian restaurant XiShi has no opening date in the former Little Buddha space at the Palms.
