The motto for new Japanese restaurant Sakana reads, "our family works hard for your smile." Taking over the former Kabuki Dining Bar, they've added TVs displaying Japanese music videos and a different style of menu.
While they offer a lunch or dinner "all you can eat" special starting at $20.95, with "all you can drink" for an additional $3, the à la carte choices have been created with tongue firmly in cheek.
Try the "Monkey Brain" deep fried roll with tempura banana and spicy crab. Or the "What the Heck Roll" with spicy soft shell crab, spicy tuna and avocado. Other spicy options are named "I Need Water," "Can't Talk Now" and "Call 911." You'll find dishes labelled the "Mistake," the "Rattle Snake" and the "Green Monster." And dinner specials include the "Screaming O" and the sashimi salad they've christened "Cocaine."
The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to last call at 10 p.m.
