Marc Sgrizzi's empire expands again as he prepares to open his second Novecento 900 Pizzeria in Henderson. The restaurant, which serves up pizzas cooked in 900 degree ovens, takes over the former Laziza Hookah Lounge space on Eastern Avenue.
Sgrizzi opened his original Novecento in Centennial in January and also owns Parma by Chef Marc at Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue.
He uses San Marzano tomatoes from Napoli, 00 Caputo Flour and fresh mozzarella from Campania, Italy. The stone oven burns almond wood at a temperature just over 900 degrees and cooks a pizza in about 90 seconds. Pizza are hand shaped and all are 11 inches.
The last Facebook update says, "July 31, 2013 construction progress. The landlord wants us to raise the roof, 2 feet. We should be complete on Sunday. Opening SOON. Yeah."
