Pierre Gagnaire returns to his restaurant Twist at the Mandarin Oriental Aug. 19-26, revealing two new menus during his stay.
First up, an Opus One Winery dinner on Aug. 26 showcasing wines paired with Gagnaire's cuisine. Look for the vintage 1980 Opus One as well as vintages from 1988, 1999, 2005 and 2009. The six-course dinner includes roasted duck foie gras and beef strip loin with artichoke ice cream. This dinner from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. goes for $500 per person.
For those who want to taste dishes from Gagnaire's restaurant around the world, the $325 Taste of the Continents menu will feature different entrees from his restaurants in London, Tokyo and Paris. This eight-course menu with wine pairings includes dishes such as Tokyo's pan-seared dorade filet in chili-spiced butter, Paris' traditional steak au poivre, London's free-range chicken breast grilled-on-the-bone en crapaudine and more.
