The tipsy, sombrero wearing Nacho Daddy cartoon dude has made his way downtown. Construction on the second location for the self-described "American Grill with Mexican flair" is well underway on Fourth Street in a spot opposite Neonopolis. The space is currently gutted and cleared of debris.
A local favorite of Zappos employees near their Henderson headquarters, this second outpost will be able to serve staffers when their new Zappos workplace opens later this fall in the very close former City Hall. Company honcho Tony Hsieh is a silent partner in the restaurant and his Downtown Project bought this property in March 2012 for $1.1 million
Expect 401-square-feet of outdoor seating created in the alley. Inside, a large square bar can seat 38 and the space can accommodate 84 in the main dining room. A "To Go" window will be created on Fourth Street.
An opening date by the end of the year is still projected and the team have tentatively penciled an 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily schedule.
