Looks like the bar going in the Ogden is from none other than Michael Cornthwaite, the owner of Downtown Cocktail Room and co-owner of Emergency Arts, The Beat Coffeehouse & Records and Oscar's Beef, Booze & Broads. The 2,200-square-foot bar, dubbed Scullery, will feature an eight-seat bar, banquettes, an intimate nook for two, three private booths and a cocktail program with lighter drinks.
Cornthwaite tells Vegas Seven the name references kitchens, where most of the socializing goes on in the home, so expect to find kitchen equipment, work surfaces and a refrigerated prep table in the bar area. Gins and amaros get an emphasis on the menu as ell.
Look for an October opening.
Also on tap for Cornthwaite, tiny outposts inside the Downtown Container Park that include The Boozery; the Beatnik, a smaller version of his coffee house; and Pork 'n Beans, a tiny place that features sausage, beer and beans in conjunction with chef-partner Kerry Simon, who may be opening Kerry Restaurant inside the John E. Carson Hotel.
