"Serial social entrepreneur" Miki Agrawal's organic-friendly pizza joint at the Ogden is so close to completion. In August she had hoped, "with fingers crossed," for a Sept. 12 opening and via Instagram she is now referencing a Sept. 14 debut. Her updates with interior photographs suggest she is right on target.
Images include Agrawal helping build a banquette, buying the final round of necessary plates and picking up the lounge's pillows.
The fall menu for her original Manhattan restaurant, Wild NY, features the Skinny Bitch pizza with grilled zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomato and pesto and the Pear-Fig Gorgonzola with pear puree, pear, figs and fresh rosemary. All pizzas are prepared with their gluten-free, vegan crust.
Agrawal will be conducting a live reading from her new book Do Cool Sh*t: Quit Your Day Job, Start Your Own Business & Live Happily Ever After at Wild NY, on Sept.17. The book's forward is by Zappos boss Tony Hsieh, who was instrumental in bringing Wild to Las Vegas and into the same Downtown building where he hosts the Downtown Project offices.
