The Palazzo may have Cake Boss Buddy Valastro's forthcoming Buddy V's, but the Venetian's St. Mark's Square will soon have its own master of the sugary arts. Robert Teddy, renowned local executive pastry chef of M. Antoinette Cakes will be opening his own La Sugarie in the replica Piazza San Marco late in October.
A former professional illustrator and designer, Teddy will be displaying his artistic touch with glowing, kinetic sugar glass sculptures created especially for the new space.
Away from his usual elaborate cake creations expect a dozen flavors of French macaroons, Belgian chocolate dipped strawberries and specialty pastries to be shared with artisan coffee.
Opening hours are projected to be 10 a.m to 11 p.m. and extend to midnight from Friday through Sunday.
