Here's a surprise in this new age of more casual dining options for the club kids who are making bank for the nightclubs. Now comes words that Diego, the Mexican restaurant at the MGM Grand, is shutting down Monday, Sept. 23.
No word on what will take its place or the fate of Christina Olivarez, the executive chef there who became the first Las Vegas chef to win the Food Network's Chopped and Eater Vegas' Chef of the Year last year. MGM Grand promises a new restaurant will take its place by January 2014.
