The official press release said we would have to wait until late 2014, but there is movement at the future site of the first Shake Shack to rock Las Vegas.
The East Coast rival to In-N-Out Burger will be taking over the space currently designated for CityCenter sales offices. A new demolition order had been approved for the location. Already, temporary construction fencing has been erected and part of the landscaping has been dug up, next to an area usually occupied by card flappers and street hustlers. They will be pushed aside when a forthcoming protective plywood barrier is added to the Strip frontage.
Shake Shack's vision for the space includes chairs and booths to be constructed from "lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council" and tabletops built from "reclaimed bowling alley lanes." A "selection of rich and creamy frozen custard concretes" will be exclusive to this location.
