Flexitarians, locavores, gluten-free addicts, vegetarians and vegans rejoice. LYFE Kitchen, the Oprah Winfrey-approved restaurant with locations in California and Chicago, is headed to The District soon.
The restaurant is known for using locally and sustainably sourced organic ingredients whenever possible. LYFE lists its full ingredients, as well as calorie, sodium and nut allergy information.
A group of former McDonald's executives created this fast-casual concept that features dishes with fewer than 600 calories and less than 1,000 milligrams of sodium. LYFE stands for "love your food everyday." Consulting chefs here include Art Smith, who worked for Oprah Winfrey, and Tal Ronnen, a proponent of vegan dining who also runs Crossroads in Los Angeles.
In The District, LYFE Kitchen will be next to Settebello.
