The plywood sign at Caesars Palace speaks an acknowledged truth that "every great hotel deserves an exceptional lobby bar." Caesars is hoping to meet that challenge by shuttering their 24-hour Galleria Bar located just off the lobby and commencing a considerable upgrade hidden behind a very large series of plywood panels.
The new, 3,673-square-foot super-sized lobby showcase has allocated $1,300,000 for the estimated construction costs. The walls hiding the work stretch from the hotel check-in desk down to the Palace Court high-roller lounge, temporarily displacing the Golf Desk to a spot next to the concierge.
For now, guests are advised to head over to The Seahorse Bar closer to the race and sports book, Shadow Bar, adjacent to Nobu Restaurant & Lounge or the new Apostrophe Bar across from the Bacchanal Buffet. The exact same seven-figure estimated budget was allotted to the Apostrophe Bar before its groundbreaking.
Caesars Palace's own Website makes no mention of the changes or closure, nor offers a timetable for completion.
