Buddy Valastro Talks About Carlo's Bakery, Coming Soon

Already the plywood is up outside Carlo's Bakery, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro's first bakery on the West Coast coming to the Venetian. Valastro has Buddy V's Ristorante, his very first Italian restaurant that opened in October at the Palazzo. Carlo's Bakery plans to sit right across the hall from the restaurant with a bakery full of Valastro's dishes from his TLC show. Valastro talked briefly about his bakery and what Las Vegas can expect.

Tell me about Carlo's Bakery?
I'm excited to bring Carlo's Bakery to the Venetian. I've been going over all the plans. What I love is that it's going to look like two stores that showcases that cakes with an enclosure on the outside and inside where a whole working kitchen can be seen. They'll be making cakes in the window. It will be like watching an episode of Cake Boss. We'll have these grand, beautiful cakes in Vegas.

What do you plan to serve there?
We'll have cakes for birthdays weddings all that good stuff. Cupcakes, canollis, my lobster tail. We'll have a full-service bakery.

When do you plan to open?
I'm going to say late February or early March.

How big will it be?
I think it will be about 3,000 square foot.

I'm just excited to bring a bakery here to Las Vegas. If you want good, old school Italian food, come to Buddy V's for old school, grandma-style cooking.
