Breaking news out of Red Rock Resort. LBS: A Burger Joint is closing its doors after the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 3.
In a statement sent to Eater Vegas, parent company Block 16 Hospitality says that it's closing the restaurant after a five-year run there to "refresh its offerings to its guests and will soon be bringing some new concepts to the market," says Anthony Meidenbauer, partner and corporate executive chef. "As Block16 Hospitality's first restaurant venture, LBS Burger Joint has a lot of memories and success that we're proud of. As this chapter closes, we're excited for new growth to Block16's portfolio in early 2014. We're thankful to all our loyal guests and staff."
While not confirmed to be taking over the LBS space, Mercadito is planning to bring its Mexican fare to Red Rock by September. Block 16 is opening a new pizzeria and craft brew house Flour & Barley at The Linq and The Blind Pig — Provisions & Lounge at the Panorama Towers. The company's Haute Doggery opened at The Linq at the end of 2013.
