The Mario Batali Foundation makes good on its promise to open a new Books for Kids library in Las Vegas. Coming Friday, Nov. 7, the Acelero Learning Reach Out Center at 1522 Pinto Lane becomes the ninth Books for Kids Library nationwide and the first in Nevada. The library will serve 82 children year-round.
“We’ve opened nine libraries with Books for Kids and with each new library opening, I grow more hopeful that one day we will see an end to illiteracy in this country. When we started the Mario Batali Foundation, I couldn’t imagine how many children these libraries would touch. It’s an amazing feeling to see this dream being realized,” Mario Batali says in a press release.
Books for Kids creates libraries, donates books, and implements literacy programs to develop the critical early foundation and skills which young children need to be successful in life, a press release notes. Batali launched the Mario Batali Foundation in 2008 to help kids be well read and well fed.
Batali has Carnevino at the Palazzo, Otto Enoteca Pizzeria at the Grand Canal Shoppes and B&B Ristorante and B&B Burger & Beer at the Venetian.
