H.wood Group, the LA nightclub group bought out in June by Hakkasan Group here in Las Vegas, is making its first new venture into the restaurant world. The company behind Bootsy Bellows and Hooray Henry’s is taking over the former Jerry's Famous Deli space on Beverly Boulevard in West Hollywood to create an Eataly-type project with sit-down and take-out experiences.
This first project between H.wood Group and Las Vegas-based Hakkasan Group plans to feature carved meats and pressed sandwiches in a 6,000-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open next summer. Chef John Carlos Kuramoto of another H.Wood project The Nice Guy takes over the menu.
H.wood Group partner John Terzian tells the LA Times the design is an "East Coast preppy feel, kind of like a Ralph Lauren ad — but not in a gimmicky way — that will appeal to a lot of people."
