DOWNTOWNThe Mob Museum celebrates Repeal Day on Friday, Dec. 5, with the Boss of the Bars contest in the historic courtroom at 9:30 p.m. The bar with the best Prohibition-era-inspired cocktail will be awarded the Repeal Day Cup. MONTE CARLO AND PALMSAndre’s Restaurant & Lounge and Alizé have new cocktails including the Rhumbarb with Cruzan white rum, rhubarb syrup, Campari and rhubarb bitters; Kiwi Collins with Sobieski cytron vodka, Dolin Blanc, kiwi puree, lime juice and sprite; Negroni Bianco with Boodles gin, Dolin Blanc and Salers; Pomegranate Gimlet with Bombay gin, Stirrings pomegranate liquor, house made pomegranate grenadine, simple syrup and lime juice; New-Old Fashioned with Elation pear liquor, Makers Mark bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and fresh bosc pears); and Bitter Two-Thymer with Sobieski cytrus vodka, Thatcher elderflower liquor, meyer lemon juice, simple syrup, thyme and lemon bitters. One additional cocktail still needs a name, and Facebook fans can submit their ideas here and here. The cocktail contains Cocchi Americano, Sobieski cytron vodka, Bombay gin, honey tangerine juice, simple syrup, and orange flower water. The winner earns a $50 gift card. [EaterWire]
