Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is coming, whether you are ready or not, and the Kevin James comedy is the first feature to be granted permission to be filmed extensively at the Wynn Las Vegas. Judging by the debut trailer, every nook and cranny of it was captured on film.
The production was fortified by a tidy Nevada film tax credit, but the the real beneficiary appears to be the Wynn resort itself, with the trailer acting as a two minute love fest to the hotel, casino and the high end retail tenants.
The Paul Blart character, who banked $183.3 million in his first outing, is attending a Las Vegas security guard convention when assorted shenanigans thrust him front and center into a dastardly plot to steal from the casino. The trailer makes the most of the resort's signage, inserting plugs for Surrender Nightclub, Dior and Cartier. Missing so far is a hint if any of the Wynn dining options will fit into the scenario.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is scheduled to open on April 17.
