One of three local El Pollo Mobile destinations was shuttered by the Southern Nevada Health District last week. Their food truck, which sits at the intersection of Rainbow and Smoke Ranch, was hit with 38 demerits and an immediate closure. Violations included hand washing, unwholesome food, effective pest control and no potable water or hot water, the Imminent Health Hazard that shut down the place.
This is the third shutdown at this location by the SNHD in the last nine months, with closures in February and July.

Narrowly missing a shutdown, Honey Pig Korean hit 40 demerits after a routine inspection. Violations included hand washing, proper temperatures for storage, pest control, accurate thermometers and misuse of of single use items. The Chinatown restaurant had previously been shuttered by inspectors in 2008.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
