Local barbecue competition winners Esquire BBQ have re-branded and upgraded as Billy's Bar-B-Que and have now debuted as a restaurant in the former Manhattan Fish Grill space at The Mall at Grand Canyon in Spring Valley. The dine in or to go venture specializes in slow smoked meats with a menu that stretches beyond usual outdoor festival fare.
Their "competition ribs," which includes one large side or two small sides, range from $21.99 for a full rack dinner with 10 to 12 bones to $11.99 for the quarter rack with four bones. Smoked meats — including brisket, pulled pork, chicken and brisket sausage can be bought by the half pound or try the $2.95 "one bone rib teaser."
Also on the menu, "BBQ Tacos," smoke chicken noodle soup and and sandwiches served on a "bed of slaw."
Sides include brisket baked beans, smoked mac and cheese and the $6.99 Billy’s Bacon Bombs, "smoked jalapeños filled with spiced cream cheese pulled pork and bacon."
Once through limited Thanksgiving hours, opening hours will be Monday to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays to Saturdays until 9 p.m. Billy's is closed on Sundays.
