Seems Pearl, the Chinese restaurant at the MGM Grand, has closed for good. The restaurant, which served traditional Chinese cuisine specializing in dishes from the Canton and Shanghai provinces, used steaming, braising, baking, and frying methods of cooking. Originally the restaurant from chef Kai-Wa Yau, who has been with the restaurant since it opened in 2001, announced that it would be closed through Nov. 26, and then again Dec. 2-24, but now no sign of it shows up on the MGM Grand Website. The restaurant reservation line at the resort confirms that it closed for good Nov. 3. Hakkasan brought its Cantonese-inspired fare to the resort in 2013.
