Triple George Grill, the Downtown Grand steakhouse and lunch favorite at 201 N. Third St., came within one point of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Oct. 28.
Violations included a lack of hand washing, unapproved commercially manufactured food, spoiled food, ineffective pest control measures and inaccurate thermometers found during the 40 demerit inspection.
Ten previous inspections dating back to 2005 resulted in an A grade.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
