Joyful House, the Chinese restaurant at 4601 Spring Mountain Road, was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Oct. 29 found an imminent health hazard plus 43 demerits.
A pest infestation shut down the restaurant. Inspectors also found spoiled food, cross-contamination of waster water, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures and more.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
