The ongoing upgrades to the outdoor Strip seating at the flagship Sugar Factory at Paris Las Vegas will soon be joined by new construction and demolition noise. And some big changes.
Hexx Restaurant plans to demolish and build on 10,450 square feet right inside Sugar Factory, one third of the 30,000-square-foot footprint that includes the Sugar Factory Brasserie, Café and Chocolate Lounge. No further details are forthcoming, but it does appear the chocolate dining connection will be maintained during the switcheroo.
While not mentioned by name in current paperwork, Vintner Grill executive chef Matthew Silverman has been working on a number of local projects, including Junior's Dipped Sandwiches and a new concept called Hexx Chocolate. In August, a Facebook page for HEXX Kitchen Bar, a "new American restaurant" was quietly launched, with the exact same address as Sugar Factory. Silverman describes the Hexx Chocolate candy as the "first bean to bar chocolate concept in Las Vegas." Silverman is the sole registrant for Hexxkitchen.com.
Although work on Hexx has yet to begin, current prominent plywood outside Sugar Factory's north-side has to remind guests they are still open. Workers are demolishing the existing staircase that leads from Chateau Nightclub and Gardens above, readying to build a new one and extend the patio below. In all, an estimated $700,000 construction project. Work inside Chateau is also scheduled, moving the existing DJ booth to accommodate a new VIP area.
Demolition permits for Hexx were filed in October.
