Your Guide to the 13 Biggest Restaurants Still To Come at Downtown Summerlin

Many more restaurants still need to open at the 1.6 million-square-foot mall that debuted last month. Here, a look at 13 of the most anticipated, what they're about and when they will open.

Downtown Summerlin, the new shopping mecca just south of Red Rock Resort, opened in October and still has much to reveal. Earlier this week, Wolfgang Puck brought his first off-Strip restaurant to Vegas, and this month, two more big spots plan to open at the upscale shopping center anchored by Macy's, Dillard's and a to-die-for Nordstrom Rack. Restaurants big and small still need to make their debut at the 1.6 million-square-foot mall. Here, a look at 13 of the biggest openings still anticipated at Downtown Summerlin.

Andiron Steak & Sea
The Players: Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla
The Situation: The couple's third restaurant is an homage to all things, grilled, roasted, shucked and seared. Premium meats are the name of the game here. Seasonal market sides will accompany these dishes. Designer Thomas Schlesser, who created the looks for Bar Boulud, David Burke Kitchen and Má Pêche is in charge of the look and feel of the restaurant.

California Pizza Kitchen
The Players: The pizza chain that started in 1985 based in Playa Vista, Calif.
The Situation: This will be the fifth CPK to enter the Vegas market and the first in Summerlin.

Gelato Messina
The Players: Nick Palumbo and three co-owners from Australia
The Situation: The shifting menu includes 40 choices of gelato, large gelato cakes and monoporzione. Aside from classic flavors, their top 10 gelato flavor combinations include pear and rhubarb with chocolate fondant, Italian nougat and tiramisu and poached figs in marsala and gianduia. The Dr Evil's Magic Mushroom and other elaborate gelato cakes are the name of the game here.

Grape Street Cafe & Wine Bar
The Players: John McKibbon
The Situation: The West Lake Mead Boulevard wine bar and Italian restaurant launches a second effort with a space designed to resemble a wine cellar. Look for a full service outdoor patio as well.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
The Players: Gabriel Caliendo
The Situation: Lunch and dinner daily along with brunch on Saturday and Sunday, this restaurant with 14 locations plans to have a dog-friendly patio. The craft brew list is highlighted by Lazy Dog's own brand created in collaboration with Golden Road Brewing.
Opening: Early 2015

MTO Cafe
The Players: Matt Moore, Ben Sabouri and Johnny Church
The Situation: Downtown darling MTO expands to dinner with its second location in Las Vegas. The restaurant plans to have four distinct dining areas, including the dining room, counter and a community table made from wood from the owner's family farm in Kentucky as well as an 800-square-foot outdoor patio.

Pancho's Mexican Restaurant
The Players: The Lawrence family out of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
The Situation: The lively Manhattan Beach sports bar features a full menu of authentic Mexican dishes. Pancho's is also known for regular live entertainment, from karaoke to jazz combos. Although famed for their margaritas, the tale of the Harvey Wallbanger originating with Pancho's is an urban cocktail legend.

Pieology
The Players: The family of tennis champion Michael Chang
The Situation: Pieology creates their "kustom" pizzas from scratch in under five minutes with the option for the customer to chose from more than 30 toppings and five different sauces. A second is planned at the Hughes Center in the former Hamada of Japan on Flamingo Road.

Public School 702
The Players: Bob Spivak
The Situation: This restaurant out of California uses the tagline, "An Education in the Art of Food and Beer." The fare here includes a bacon cheddar tots served with Sriracha ketchup, a Colorado lamb burger with tomato cranberry jam, and shrimp and Grafton cheddar grits. New for Vegas only, a late-night menu. On tap, 24 craft beers and more than half of them rotating to feature seasonal and regional brews.

Ribs & Burgers
The Players: Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group in Australia
The Situation: Their beef, lamb or pork ribs are slow cooked for eight hours and caramelized with their "secret basting." All their burger meat is free range and hormone free.

Rice Republic Sushi & Noodle Bar
The Players: Hig Management, the force behind F.A.M.E. at The Linq that just opened the pan-Asian Yong Kang Street Dumpling & Noodle House at Paris Las Vegas
The Situation: Not much has been released about this presumably Asian restaurant that will sit next to Grape Street.

Wonderland Bakery
The Players: Allyson Ames
The Situation: Wonderland Bakery specializes in custom baking, themed events for children or adults and a daily range of creatively designed cookies, cakes and cupcakes. The bakery also has the claim to fame as the home of the "favorite sugar cookies of White House," embellished with edible Presidential Seal artwork.
