In the ongoing war for Las Vegas diner's chicken wing and tender dollars, the Strip may soon raise a new champion. Planet Hollywood Resort is readying to add Knockout Wings to its dining mix, a new venture that has already set aside a startling $1.2 million in construction costs.
That weighty investment is offset by the amount of space the new restaurant needs to fill. Knockout will KO 7,027 square feet of footprint at the resort, room enough for a maximum occupancy of 342. For a chicken wing concept.
By comparison, a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, featuring a sports bar component, is typically sized between 4,000 and 6,500 square feet. Wild Wings has three local Las Vegas locations.
No location for Knockout Wings has yet been announced, but the large size prohibits certain areas of the resort. Also yet to be revealed, the culinary mastermind behind the project.
