It's an expansion program that includes a hefty commute for the owners. Alaska's Serrano’s Mexican Grill will open their second location in Henderson on Dec. 20, in a 2,574-square-foot former Taco Bell, across from the Galaxy Green Valley Luxury Theater.
Their original outlet is 3,432 miles away in Anchorage and has proven a local's favorite for the fast casual concept with an upgraded restaurant interior.
The team's approach in the north, has been to serve gluten free meat and vegetables and "farm-fresh ingredients." Best known for their tacos, Serrano’s offers a full menu with dishes like homemade tortilla soup, tamales, chile relleno and chile Colorado featuring "slow cook chunks of pork in roasted tomatoes, pasilla, and guajillo peppers."
Described as a "taco pub," you will order and pay at the counter, but the interior decor at 4425 E. Sunset Rd. will be a step above the usual fast food joint. Serrano’s has already hinted they have looked into the possibility of expanding again into Summerlin.
