Looks like Latin Fish, the sophomore effort from former Bar + Bistro chef Beni Velazquez, plans to open in Desert Shores by New Year’s Eve, at least according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The restaurant taking over the former Garfield’s space is touting a "four-course Bacardi-infused dinner" for $69 and a "dinner with Latin Carnival NYE Party Access" for $99 with seatings at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

For those who want party access only, the doors open at 8 p.m. with tickets going for $39 per person or $49 at the door.

For reservations to "Carnival on the Lake," call 702-925-8333.

The restaurant touts "tapas, seafood and grill" with a mermaid as the logo.
