The Las Vegas Review-Journal released its 10 Best New Restaurants list from food critic HKR with Giada, the first restaurant from Giada De Laurentiis, at The Cromwell topping the list. Following suit, José Andrés’ Bazaar Meat at the SLS Las Vegas, Daniel Boulud’s DB Brasserie at the Venetian, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin and Kerry Simon’s Carson Kitchen.
Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla’s Made LV at Tivoli Village, Bruce and Eric Bromberg’s Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq, Doug Bell’s Pot Liquor CAS at Town Square, Mercadito at Red Rock Resort and a second Bernard’s Bistro in Henderson round out the list.
Overall, it's a strong showing for celebrity chefs and the Strip.
HKR’s list ignores Chinatown and Asian fare all together, disregarding newcomers District One Kitchen & Bar, Japanese Cuisine by Omae, and Matthias Mergers’ Yusho at the Monte Carlo as well as David Clawson Restaurant, easily becoming a darling of the critics in Henderson.
Does this list encapsulate the 10 best places to open in Las Vegas over the past year? Should some other places have merited inclusion? Hit the comments with thoughts.
