International gourmet food store chain Vom Fass wil begin "daily tasting tours" Feb. 1 at the Grand Canal Shoppes. The 1,011-square-foot corner space, located a few steps from Tao Nightclub, is being created by their Jackson Hole, Wyo., franchise holders.
Specializing in vintage wines, premium vinegars, oils and spirits, particularly whiskey, the company also stocks gourmet items like pasta, chutney and spices.
Expect scotch, oil and balsamic tastings sampled right from the cask to be a regular part of the Vegas store.
The first Vom Fass shop opened in 1994 in Regensburg, Germany, and is now branded on more than 250 stores as far afield as Switzerland, Japan and New Zealand.
