Merging anime, cosplay, Japanese pop culture and women dressed in French maid costumes, Chinatown's Pretty Girls Maid Cafe debuted in the former Anime Ramen space in July 2013. It then vanished just two months later. Now, it intends to be reborn as the Maid Cafe Wonderland.
The cafe served ramen, teriyaki and desserts and found ways to serve many dishes in a Super Kawaii fashion, inspired by restaurants found in Tokyo's Akihabara district.
The very upbeat staff treated customers as Goshujin-sama and Ojou-sama (masters and mistresses) joining in with "interactive games, stimulating conversations, group dances, musical performances and more."

The team now promises the restaurant concept is back on track to return in 2015, with the new location yet to be revealed. In the interim they have been providing hostess services at conventions and local events. On Dec. 7, they will be part of an evening hosted at GameWorks at Town Square from 5 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the holidays and like-minded locals who enjoy dressing in pop culture themed outfits.
