Kapit Bahay Filipino Fast Food at 4115 Spring Mountain Road came within one point of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Dec. 5.
Inspectors found food unprotected from potential contamination, no hot and cold holding containers, inaccurate thermometers, staff not properly washing their hands and more during the 40-demerit inspections.
Previous inspections dating back to 2009 resulted in a mix of B grades and A grades.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
