Brace for Bottomless Curries at New Zealand Import Urban Turban

The Bombay-style Indian restaurant debuts the third week of December.

More information just dropped on Urban Turban, a Bombay Kitchen & Tapas Bar, coming to Paradise Road. The 4,450-square-foot restaurant out of New Zealand plans to debut its first Indian joint in the United States the third weekend in December.

Consider this a taste of Bombay. Owners Jasmine and Bhushan Arolkar plan to serve up a Bombay style of cuisine. Look for a menu of lamb sliders, masala cup corn and gin chicken, emphasizing the country’s west coast. Like many Indian restaurants, expect vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. But most important, the bottomless curries.

Behind the bar, Urban Turban plans to serve local craft beers on tap, wines and a specialty cocktail menu.

Urban Turban’s executive chef out of New Zealand Kedar Anthwal is helping with the opening, with Vijay Deokar,, who has worked as a chef and manager in kitchens for the Taj Group, Oberoi, Royal Caribbean Cruises and more, overseeing the Vegas operation.
