It's a Wine Kind of Day at Ferraro's and Smith & Wollensky

EASTSIDE — Ferraro's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar has a Taste and Learn wine event on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. that spotlights wines from Italy's famed Piedmont winemaking region. Guests will taste four wines by the Piedmont winemaker Batasiolo with each wine accompanied by a small-bite pairing prepared by executive chef Mimmo Ferraro. Owner Gino Ferraro and a representative from the winemaker will discuss the origin, contents and winemaking process of each vintage, while Mimmo will provide details about each of the food pairings he prepared to complement them. THE STRIP — Smith & Wollensky holds its 54th National Wine Week March 10-14. Guests can sample 10 wines for $20 with the purchase of a lunch entrée. The wine flight includes Chateau D'Esclans "Whispering Angel" Rose, Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir and J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon.
