This year will prove a busy year of changes for The Mirage, with the resort already unveiling a revamping of the Lobby Bar, casino floor carpeting and chairs and the exterior valet entrance. Now comes word from the local team of NOVUS Architecture via their Website that they are working on the design of a new Center Bar to be completed sometime this year. The open plan rendering and name imply it will be located in the area of the current High Limit Slots lounge, once active as the 24-hour Baccarat Bar.

UPDATE: NOVUS Architecture has since removed the rendering from their Website but a second party close to the project confirms that Center Bar will come in 2015.

Still to come on property, a full slate of upgrades including work on the shuttered King Ink tattoo parlor and lounge across from 1OAK nightclub, plans for the temporary True Pour mini bar in front of the former B.B. King's Blues Club entrance and the fate of the rumored three-meal restaurant to be added inside that club's shuttered space.

Also long rumored is a refreshing of the Onda Ristorante & Wine Lounge and most importantly, the arrival of chef Masaharu Morimoto's first Las Vegas restaurant into the space now occupied by Japonais. As Eater Vegas reported last December the word from the resort now points to a possible June start time for the estimated six-month construction process. The Mirage itself is officially touting a "late 2014" debut for Morimoto Las Vegas, delayed from an "early 2014" launch they predicted last July.
