Binion's Café, the Fremont Street casino staple, has re-opened at Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel. The once open-plan diner is now housed in a long rectangular brick home with video screen menus outside, vintage Las Vegas photographs on the walls inside, but still featuring the same friendly staff and consistent menu choices that have created a very loyal following among locals and regular visitors.

One important holdover from the upgrade is the installation of the original, flavored flat griddle that has created thousands and thousands of one of their most popular items, the Binion's Burger, served with potato salad, lettuce, tomato, onion and sweet pickle chips. It is still on the menu for $4.95.

Changes do include an upgraded roster of dishes with new entrees such as the broiled fresh salmon filet, a 14-ounce T-bone steak, pizza and after 4 p.m., the option of prime rib. With the new surroundings come some small uprisings in price. The Hangover Breakfast Burger, adding bacon cheese and a fried egg to their classic serving, rises almost a quarter in price and the much promoted Gambler's Special of two eggs, two strips of bacon, a sausage patty, potatoes and toast is now fifty cents pricier.

The makeover is part of a gradual property upgrade including the current creation of a themed east side version of their outdoor Whiskey Licker bar, to be named the Cowgirl Up Cantina.
