Buddy V's New Brunch; New Dishes, Chef at Envy

PALAZZO — Buddy V's Ristorante kicks off Buddy's family brunch starting this Sunday with dishes served buffet-style throughout the restaurant. Look for charcuterie and cheese platters, a chilled station including shrimp on the shell, fresh salads, pasta fagioli, house breads and a carving station with maple-glazed Smith Field ham, assorted Italian sausages and slab bacon. Chicken rigatoni, mac and cheese carbonara, chicken parmesan and meatballs as well as breakfast options such as French toast, roasted vegetable frittata, egg scrambles and crespelle with Nutella make the menu. Featured drinks include sangria, bloody Marys, bloody Caesars, buckets of beer, mimosas, Bellinis and wines by the glass, available for $14.95 for three drinks. RENAISSANCE — Envy — The Steakhouse has a new chef Derek Gigliotti, who revamped the menu launching with American and Italian touches on April 1. Look for oysters Rockefeller combined with Capesante al Forno, where Gigliotti replaces the oysters with small bay scallops and includes pancetta, an Italian-smoked bacon and parmesan cheese bread crumbs in the topping. Oxtail soup is paired with spaghetti noodles and braised with onions, garlic, carrots and an heirloom variety of tomatoes imported from Italy. The steaks remain the same. [EaterWire]
