Less than 24 hours after installing their front door signage, 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria has announced they will be firing up their ovens for the public on Friday, April 4. The first of their two additions to the Las Vegas dining scene occupies a 3,278-square-foot space, with enviable views of the Strip and the new Boulevard pedestrian plaza created in front of the Monte Carlo resort.
The chandeliers are already lit, the marble counters and subway tile within the ordering and preparation section are set and next to come are the rustic tinged tables and bistro chairs atop a hardwood floor.
The company likes to consider each new venture as a "church of pizza," and renderings for the Las Vegas site include church pew style seating, as seen in the rapidly growing chain's previous locations.

Umami Burger founder Adam Fleischman alongside former Michael Mina chef Anthony Carron were among a team who developed the concept. The intense heat from the wood-burning oven cooks pies in about 60 seconds. This style creates a crust that is "characteristically soft and chewy, and with a little bit of char from the intense heat."

Complimenting their adjacent neighbor, the Double Barrel Roadhouse, 800 Degrees will offer patio seating. Both ceiling fans and heat lamps have been installed to prepare for any temperature eventuality. Inside, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows will provide similar views of the Strip.

The company has been sharing images via Facebook of their up and running wood-fired ovens for the last week, pointing to the announcement of an imminent opening date. The restaurant will also be a featured attraction at SLS Vegas when that resort debuts Labor Day weekend. Located on the opposite end of the Strip, progress is well advanced and their ovens are already in place.

Work still continues on The Boulevard, with construction teams racing to complete the upscale, casual coffee shop Sambalatte, ice cream store BLVD Creamery and Yusho from chef Matthias Merges.
MGM Resorts International chairman and CEO Jim Murren recently revealed he hopes this outside of the casino floor environment will be replicated and added to the stretch of land linking the company's Excalibur and Mandalay Bay resorts.
