Plywood still surrounds the casino-level portion of The Chandelier bar, but a persistent rumor has been confirmed regarding the unfortunate work being conducted behind the walls, set to affect the ambiance of this much-admired destination.

Sources tell Eater Vegas The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is adding video gaming machines to the bar's curved marble top. While rumored, the absence of any paperwork presented to recent Liquor and Gaming Licensing Board meetings seemed to suggest otherwise.

But visual evidence of the tell-tale slots cut into the counter corroborate the tips. As many as nine machines may be added. No word if the machines are video poker dedicated or traditional games of chance.

The Chandelier operates over distinct three levels. The lowest tier had also been home to music acts over the past year, including a residency by retro jazz-swing band, The Jennifer Keith Quintet. The Cosmopolitan runs a similar set-up at the Book & Stage lounge where bar denizens can gamble on video poker machines while watching the live acts appearing on the rear stage.
